About Us


Orana Gardens Ltd understand that everyone is different and therefore will have their own specific needs and care requirements. We pride ourselves on being able to provide premium care to every one of our residents by meeting all of your physical, social, mental, spiritual and psychological needs.

Individual care plans are created for each resident to ensure medications and health needs are adequately met. Orana Gardens Ltd can arrange visits from health professionals as required to make it easy for our residents to access the care they require.

Facilities such as the library, pool and spa (in Dubbo), as well as regular outings and activities allow residents to make the most of social opportunities, partake in physical exercise or focus on spiritual needs.

Making decisions about the move into an aged care facility can be a very daunting and difficult process. Orana Gardens Ltd understands this and will endeavour to make your transition into aged care as seamless as possible. You should always discuss your concerns and questions with someone who knows you well, such as a family member or friend, as well as your doctor. Also, feel free to contact us to arrange a visit, or to go over any specific questions you may have.

Before you apply for residency at any of our Aged Care facilities you need to be completely comfortable with your decision. To help put your mind at ease we have compiled a checklist which addresses issues that you should consider in your decision making process.

Once you have reviewed the checklist, please contact us directly and we will arrange for an application pack to be sent to you. This will provide you with many more details on applying to the aged care facilities.

All prospective residents, including those on respite, must be assessed by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) prior to entry. This helps ensure that your individual needs will be met by our residential homes.

The current waiting list is quite extensive and it is difficult to provide an exact timeframe on when a unit may become available.

If you are thinking of moving into the Estate, we suggest you submit an ‘occupancy interest form’ as soon as possible (post to PO Box 4159, Dubbo NSW 2830).

You are under no obligation to accept a unit if one is offered to you.

Orana Gardens Ltd also provides a full range of services and facilities for its residents including free access to the indoor heated pool and spa, the Estate bowling green, library, Orana Gardens Country Club and Village Roundhouse. Our own specially modified 13-seater bus ensures you have the option of regular outings while our non-denominational consecrated chapel on site will guarantee your spiritual needs are met. All of our residences are superbly located, enabling ease of access to local shopping centres, parks and gardens.

There are also an endless amount of activities available to ensure you can be as busy or as quiet as you like. Monthly calendars are prepared and distributed to all residents featuring a full range of choices such as gentle exercise, outings, games, arts and craft, movie days and luncheons, to name just a few!

At Orana Gardens we believe it is important for our residents to feel at home.

While all of our facilities (except our Retirement Village) are fully furnished we encourage residents to bring important personal items such as photographs, books and clothing when moving in to ensure your room has that ‘personal’ touch. The size and location of your room will determine whether additional furniture is suitable so you should discuss this with the facility manager before you go to the trouble of moving anything.

All white goods are provided in Orana Gardens Retirement Village, however residents will need to supply their own furniture and other items. No pets are allowed at any of our facilities.


Residential care fees are charged according to the regulations specified by the Australian Department of Social Services. Fees are charged based on a standard minimal fee for all residents and then vary depending on the results of a means and assets test carried out by Centrelink or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs. Daily fees vary depending on which residence you choose to live in and your individual care needs.

The fee you pay covers most services, however some additional individual requirements may be charged on a personally assessed and costed basis. If this is the case, these will be discussed with you and outlined clearly in your agreement with us.

All of our staff in the aged care facilities are highly trained. All staff in charge of our aged care residents hold a minimum Certificate III in Aged Care and must hold a current First Aid Certificate.

All staff are required to complete compulsory police checks prior to commencing are renewed every three years.

Orana Gardens Ltd. Aged Care Association’s aged care facilities are located on Windsor Parade in east Dubbo (Orana Gardens).

Orana Gardens Special Care, our dementia specific facility, is also located on Windsor Parade, east Dubbo.

The Orana Gardens Retirement Village is located across Windsor Parade, Royal Parade, Charles Crescent and Coronation Drive, east Dubbo. It is adjacent to parkland, the Japanese Gardens and the Orana Mall shopping complex.

Yes you can continue to see your own doctor. They can either visit you at the aged care facility or our staff can help you arrange an appointment at your doctor’s rooms and arrange transport with a family member or friend of yours.
