In 1989, Dubbo RSL Aged Care Association was established as a charitable not-for-profit provider in with members of the Dubbo RSL Sub-Branch and the Dubbo RSL Memorial Club, jointly funding of Stage I of the Retirement Village (12 units) and the Roundhouse. The founding members were: Mr John Whittle, Mr Lawrie Colahan and Mr Vern Traegar.
This local business grew over the next 20 years, with 148 Independent Living Villas and a 125 bed Residential Aged Care Facility. In 2017, Orana Gardens became its own standalone entity parting ways from the RSL, governed by a local Board of Directors.
