Residential Care

If you or a family member are having difficulty managing daily tasks, it might be time to consider moving to a place where professional support and companionship are available 24/7.

Our residential aged care facility is committed to providing you or your loved ones with quality care, support, and an enriching environment that encourages community involvement and personal growth. With stimulating activities and top-class facilities, we strive to inspire and empower our residents to live their lives to the fullest.

At Orana Gardens, we believe in fostering an environment where every individual is valued, respected, and treated with dignity. We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive community for all, where everyone feels supported and empowered to thrive.

We strive to provide “seamless” transitions for our residents throughout each phase of their stay with us. We aim to provide services for each individual to promote optimum quality of life. You can explore the facilities and apply online or phone 02 6841 4100 to speak to our Administration Coordinator about your options.

Accessing Care

To ensure you or your loved one can access care, please see some steps below.

Aged Care Client Record

Ensure that you have an Aged Care Client Record that is current (post July 2014), and approval does not lapse. Please also ensure it is ticked for Residential Aged Care. If it does not meet these requirements please follow up with your local Aged Care Access Centre on 1800 942 433. They will assist you in either arranging an assessment or updating your current record.

Combined Asset & Income Assessment

Complete a Combined Asset & Income Assessment and send it through to Centrelink, the address details are provided on the back of the booklet. Please also retain a copy for your records. I recommend completing this as soon as possible, as it can sometimes take up to eight weeks to receive a reply. More information regarding Accommodation Fees and Charges can be found in the Fees and Charges section of the website. If you do not understand any of the information regarding finance, our CFO is available to assist you in understanding the options. We recommend seeking financial advice from a Financial Adviser that specialises in aged care.

Contact

Contact Nikkola our Admission and Engagement Coordinator on 0438 292 097 to arrange a time to go through the process, view the facilities and discuss an application.

Visitation at our residential care home

Important information for all Visitors

Receiving visitors is essential for resident wellbeing and helps reduce social isolation’s impact. The risk of spreading COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses can be reduced by supporting visits to occur in the safest possible way. Risk mitigation strategies include:

  • Highlighting that visitors should not enter RACFs when respiratory symptoms are present.
  • Where possible, visits should be held outdoors or in well-ventilated areas away from other residents.

Additional guidance on visiting a RACF is available in the Industry Code for Visiting Residential Aged Care Homes during COVID-19.

Entry Restrictions

  • Visitors should not enter the facility if they have:

o    Tested positive for COVID-19. Visitors should not enter an RACF for at least 7 days after their positive test unless an agreement has been reached with the RACF (e.g., for compassionate reasons).

o    Any acute respiratory symptoms or are waiting for a COVID-19 or other respiratory pathogen test result. For further information please refer to the advice in the Advice for people exposed to COVID-19 factsheet.

  • If a visit must occur when a visitor meets the above circumstances, the visitor must wear a mask when moving through the facility and minimise movement within the facility.

Mask wearing

For all visitors, wearing a mask indoors is encouraged when respiratory viruses are circulating at moderate or high levels in the community, as per the NSW Respiratory Surveillance Report.

Read the Fact Sheet for visiting our residential care homes if you have further questions.

Retirement Living

We encourage all retirement-living residents to be aware of the risks of COVID-19. We also work closely with them to ensure they understand and cooperate with our COVID-19 Prevention and Management Procedures and that of NSW Health.
